Teaching maintenance skills & boosting confidence
Unravelling the mysteries of bicycle maintenance.
I explain the technologies of a bike in an easy to understand way. This involves lots of ‘hands on’ experience for you, working on your own bike. You supply the bike and I supply the tools, knowledge and support.
Level 1 – Building Confidence & Basic Maintenance (1.5 hour £50)
- Removing, refitting & securing wheels correctly
- Tyre and tube replacement
- Bicycle safety checks
- Checking for signs of component wear
- Bike lubrication, what to use and how to apply
Level 2 – Maintenance Adjustments – Intermediate (1.5 – 2 hours £60)
- Focussed on cable operated bikes
- Gear alignment, adjustments and Indexing (mechanical)
- Brake setup & adjustments (mechanical)
- Headset adjustment
- Brake pad replacement
- Chain removal and refitting
- Cassette/Freewheel removal and refitting
- Correct use of tools such as a chain wear indicator, cassette/FW removers and a torque wrench
Level 3 – Bespoke (Ask for a quote for topics, cost and time)
- I can tailor a training course to suit you and your bike and cycling requirements
